In the apology, he blames a wonky “moral anchor” for letting him get carried away by the fame from his family’s reality TV show, which have included hanging out at bars with college girls, girlfriend-hopping, taking large sums of money from the family’s bank account, and putting a stop to the production of the family’s TLC reality show, Jon & Kate Plus 8.

Jon says he’s seeking help in the form of frequent Oprah guest Rabbi Michael Shmuley, saying that he appreciates his “morality-centered-and-values-based advice, coupled with his profound commitment to fatherhood and family.” And he’s apparently so committed to his new-found path that he’s going to make a public apology to everyone he’s ever hurt at New York’s West Side Synagogue this Sunday:

“I wish for the public to know my regret at having, at times, betrayed the moral principles that have always guided me. This forum will also allow me to illustrate the further steps I am determined to take to regain the trust and confidence of loved ones as well as the public who have watched me over the years, together with Kate, raise our eight beautiful children.”

Estranged wife Kate Gosselin was making plans with TLC just last month to cut Jon out of the reality series, turning it into just “Kate Plus Eight.” Plans for that have been put on the back burner, however.

So what do you think: Is he being genuine or has he just hired a really good PR coach?

Kate looks to have moved on, though, and was spotted with Neil Andrea yesterday heading out to a movie in West Hollywood.

Kate currently stars as Dr. Addison Montgomery on Private Practice, and also has three other movies coming out: Hot Tub Time Machine, Legion, and One Way to Valhalla.

Today also happens to be Kate’s 42nd birthday!

They announced the split just this past week after both had been noticeably absent from the other’s side for several months. Avril wrote on her website this weekend: “I am grateful for our time together, and I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship.” Avril also hints that age might have been a factor in the break-up, pointing out that they became friends when she was 17, started dating when she was 19, and married when she was 21.

It was revealed in People magazine that the marriage troubles started about six months ago but that they didn’t stem from Deryck wanting kids or because Avril wanted to date other people. The split is amicable and though the couple are no longer living together, the source says Deryck moved from their Bel Air house on his own and wasn’t kicked out.

Hefner and his estranged wife Kimberly Conrad Hefner married in 1989, just after she was named Playmate of the Year in the magazine. The couple, who have two sons together, separated in 1998, and though Kimberly filed a petition for divorce around that time it was later withdrawn.

Hef kept the Playboy mansion and Kimberly and the boys moved into a house next door. Hugh, who has had no less than three girlfriends at a time living with him in the mansion has been paying Kimberly $40,000 a month since the separation, and is hoping that with the divorce proceedings this will go down to $20,000 a month, and ultimately end in two years.

Yesterday, Hef told TMZ: “I am happy to be out of the marriage. I only remained married (to Conrad) for the sake of the children, at her request. I am happy to have this behind me.”

I remember reading an article several years ago, just after The Girls Next Door started airing, that Hugh and his ex had frequent family dinners together with their sons. This probably doesn’t happen much anymore, as both boys are now in college.

Anyway, Hugh is currently living with his three new girlfriends, twins Karissa and Kristina Shannon, and Crystal Harris.

This is a show that took off I think more than anyone thought it would. Out of nowhere, this real life story about having 8 kids was made into a reality tv show and viewers went crazy. I’m not sure if it was the fact whether no one could believe she was to have sextuplets, or that it was just a fascinating story, but whatever the case, Jon and Kate both grew very popular. I would almost go as close to saying they become famous, which is probably why they hit rock bottom. I think that is fair to say but the publicity and media is enough for people to go down if they do not know how to handle it. That is exactly what happened in this situation. Not to mention, it got a little bit to Kate’s head. Have you seen her 10 years ago compared to her pictures now? After all, Kate was the one who wanted to remain committed to their TV career where as Jon recently told PEOPLE he wanted a less high-profile life.

What I think is so sad is that the kids have not spent ONE day not being on television. Their entire life has been on tv and displayed to the public. I understand that they got good money for this and was very helpful to this, but revealing their kids privacy for their entire lives makes this a completly different story and I think very unfair. Especially with an outcome like this. What are the kids to do now? They only know what it’s like to be on tv let alone having a mother and father. Have Jon and Kate always been unhappy and just putting on a show this whole time for the public? or do you think they really were in love and gradually just wore down through season after season? Not to mind you have to handle 8 kids. That’ s a lot of work!

Their entire past must have made life boring and so ’set’ it’s no surprise that both Jon and Kate had a ‘wandering eye’. Jon had photos and there was talk of him being with a 23- year old school teacher, where as Kate had been seen with their bodyguard in close counters. They admitted they had problems and was unsure where their relationship was headed, and yesterday we got the scoop of exactly what direction that is.

My heart goes to those 8 children, and only hope this is treated in the ‘best’ – worst cast scenario.

Even though their divorce will be a reasonable one, that does not mean it is going to be a cheap one. People has exclaimed that this could easily be one of the biggest divorce settlements in Hollywood history. The couple had a prenup where Robyn is entitled half of everything in their divorce.

To put that into a little perspective, Gibson’s estimated assets are more than $600 million grossed by The Passion of the Christ alone, 4100 million – plus in real estate investments, and $75 million for film and TV projects. Wow – that is going to be one hefty cheque that Gibson is going to be witting to his ‘ex’-wife.

Eminem is once again, calling it quits with his childhood sweetheart Kim Mathers.

The two have divorced for a second time, less than a year after remarrying, but will be sharing custody of their ten-year-old daughter Hailie.

Despite making the effort to keep this family together by remarrying last year, the couple have apparently told a judge in Michigan that this time it’s genuinely over and no chance of reconciliation – there has been “a breakdown in the marriage relationship”.

Eminem, who was born Marshall Mathers, married his longtime sweetie, Kim in 1999, after the pair grew up together in Eight Mile, a district of Detroit. The pair has had a difficult past with Kim attempting suicide in 2000 and having spent time in jail for using cocaine.

Eminem, meanwhile, has been accused of threatening violence upon a man who kissed his wife and then including details in one of his songs.

The judge has said the couple “conducted themselves with dignity and respect”.

It’s unknown how the custody issue has turned out.  Slater was seeking custody of their 5-year-old daughter Eliana and 7-year-old son Jaden.

Slater, 37, and Haddon, 35, a TV producer, married in 2000 and separated in January 2005.

Given how quiet this divorce has been in comparison to that of Alec Baldwin, I’d say they have reached an agreement – let’s hope so for the kids sake at least.

Now, about Slater – is he HOT or what?
