Hugh Jackman, his wife Deborah-Lee Furness and their two kids, Oscar and Ava, headed to Connecticut this week to pick some pumpkins.

The family made a bit of a road trip out of the adventure, stopping along the way at a gas station to fill up and get snacks. They then drove on to Silverman’s Animal Farm where they spent some time picking out some perfect pumpkins.

I have to say, Hugh never seems to be upset to see paparazzi cameras and is generally in good spirits. To see him smiling so hugely when they’ve even followed him into the gas station is saying something!

Separated reality show “stars” Jon and Kate Gosselin of “Jon & Kate Plus Eight” have had a hell of year, moving into a new house and then ending their ten-year marriage on national television, while their eight kids — eight-year-old twins and five-year-old sextuplets — have been caught up in the middle of it all. Life’s going to get a bit more sour for Jon, who has reportedly been axed from the TLC show, which will be renamed to just “Kate Plus Eight.”

The change is said to have come from waning viewership, which dropped nearly 80% from the beginning of the current season (I like to think of it as a silent protest of former fans of the show). The new spin will focus more on Kate as a single mother, with Jon just making occasional appearances.

The couple, who share custody of the eight kids, decided early on in their separation that while they would each get a different place to live, the kids would remain in the million-dollar house in Pennsylvania with one parent living with them dependent upon scheduling.

They announced their split on TV this past June, though Jon was snapped with a rotation of college girls out at bars earlier than that, and then made his relationship with Hailey Glassman public soon after. Kate was rumored to have been dating her bodyguard, though those rumors seemed to have fizzled out not long after they started.

Kate Plus Eight will premiere on TLC on November 2.

I always get a kick out of the tabloids that proclaim a star has been “secretly” married. What constitues “secretly” for them, anyway? The fact that they didn’t get any pictures or a scoop before it happened?

Anyway, it’s been reported that Claire Danes and her boyfriend of two years (and fiance of seven months), actor Hugh Dancy, were married in a quiet ceremony in France at the beginning of September. The ceremony was said to have been kept intimate and was attended by family and close friends of the couple.

The two met in 2006 while filming Evening, and announced they were engaged this past February. About Hugh, Claire recently said:

“While relationships are work, this just didn’t feel like it,” she told BlackBook magazine. “It’s the kind of work that feels energizing rather than enervating. I find it very freeing to know that, okay, it takes constant nurturing and attention, but I can also stop looking for the one.”

Claire and Hugh apparently got to know each other while playing rounds of Scrabble and Boggle on the set of the movie, and a co-star and friend of Claire’s said: “I was there when it was happening and it’s something that I will never forget. I’m incredibly happy for them. They are perfect for each other.” Aww!

Bruce Willis and his wife, fashion model Emma Heming, were spotted in Paris, France this weekend as they exited the Bristol Hotel to do some shopping

Bruce has just starred in the movie Surrogates, a futuristic sci-fi where humans live in isolation and interact through surrogate robots, and looks to be spending a little time off with his wife of six months, Emma Heming. The two were married this past March in Turks & Caicos after a year of dating.

Though there’s a 23 year age difference between the two, it doesn’t seem to bother them (I would hope not!) and they appear very happy to be together.

This is Bruce’s second marriage — his first marriage to actress Demi Moore ended in 2000 and they share three daughters. Demi is currently married to actor Ashton Kutcher, who is 16 years her junior. (Are Bruce and Demi trying to out-young’un each other?)

‘Desperate Housewives’ star Marcia Cross and her husband of three years, Tom Mahoney, were spotted taking in some couples’ time yesterday as they did some window shopping around Santa Monica, California.

They grabbed some coffee before heading to Papyrus, a stationary store, to check out some of their recent offerings.

This past January, Cross’s rep announced that Mahoney had been diagnosed with cancer and was responding well to treatments, though no other details were provided. The couple of fraternal twin daughters, Eden and Savannah, who turned two in February.

Reality TV “star” Khloe Kardashian married her fiancee, LA Laker Lamar Odom, yesterday in Bel Air. The couple have only known each other for one month!

The sunset wedding took place at the private Bel Air estate of music mogul Irving Azoff and the guest list included upwards of 250 people. Khloe wore a Vera Wang dress and was escorted down the aisle by her stepfather, Bruce Jenner.

Khloe’s sisters, Kim and Kourtney, served as her bridesmaids, and Lamar’s best man was fellow Laker Kobe Bryant.

The pair met August 27th at a party that Khloe threw for one of Lamar’s friends. Lamar has two children from a previous relationship.

The wedding will air on the Kardashian’s reality TV show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians on E.

Doting dad Hugh Jackman picked up his four-year-old daughter Ava from school this past week. I love seeing stars doing normal stuff like this, especially when they seem genuinely into it and happy to be doing it!

Hugh and his wife Deborah-Lee Furness have been married since 1996, and adopted their son Oscar in 2000 and little Ava in July 2005 after suffering several miscarriages.

The hunky Australian actor is currently working on a bunch of different projects, including X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2, the sequel to this summer’s hit movie (yay!). He’ll also be starring in Drive, Fed-X, Avon Man, 3 Days in Europe, as well as producing several others.

Looking quite matchy-matchy, Tom Cruise and wife Katie Holmes took a jog together around Charles River in Boston, Massachusetts this week.

Tom is currently in Boston to shoot “Wichita,” which is about a woman who is pulled into a plot to protect the key element to an infinite power source. The film co-stars Cameron Diaz and has a current release date of July 2010.

I’m not sure why TomKat are holding hands — I would imagine that would be pretty awkward to do while running. Maybe Katie still needs to hold a grown-up’s hand while crossing the street? Kidding aside, after nearly three years of marriage they do still seem pretty into each other and their daughter Suri.

After seven years of marriage, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. are now parents! The couple, who have been married since 2002 after meeting on the set of “I Know What You Did Last Summer” in 1997, welcomed Charlotte Grace Prinze over the weekend.

The couple announced the pregnancy this past April, and Sarah Michelle was pregnant during the majority of shooting a pilot for a new HBO series, The Wonderful Maladys, in which she plays Alice Malady. Freddy is set to star in the upcoming season of 24 as Agent Cole Ortiz, which premieres in January.

This spring, Sarah Michelle talked to Access Hollywood about starting a family:

“When we do have children, my husband and I will have such a strong foundation because we’ve given our relationship time to grow,” she said. “I try to go into everything with an open mind, but it’s much more than I thought it would be. The partnership grows to such a different level. And all my life, it was just my mom and me, us against the world; so to let someone else in and to have another partner was hard for me. Now he’s my partner, my best friend, and my husband.”

Avril Lavigne and her husband of only three years, Deryck Whibley of the band Sum 41, have confirmed that they’ve separated.

They announced the split just this past week after both had been noticeably absent from the other’s side for several months. Avril wrote on her website this weekend: “I am grateful for our time together, and I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship.” Avril also hints that age might have been a factor in the break-up, pointing out that they became friends when she was 17, started dating when she was 19, and married when she was 21.

It was revealed in People magazine that the marriage troubles started about six months ago but that they didn’t stem from Deryck wanting kids or because Avril wanted to date other people. The split is amicable and though the couple are no longer living together, the source says Deryck moved from their Bel Air house on his own and wasn’t kicked out.
