Barack Michelle Obama George and Laura Bush - nc

US President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush greet President-elect Barack Obama and his wife Michelle on the North Portico of the White House in Washington, DC.

Michelle Obama brought a gift for the outgoing first lady in a white box decorated with a red ribbon. According to sources, First Lady Laura Bush presenting Michelle Obama with an engraved journal and pen so that she may begin immediately writing her memoirs.

I’ve heard many compare Michelle Obama to Jackie O – why do you think that is? Do you see a comparison? I do, but will refrain from revealing mine so that I can get a feel for how the world sees her.

What an amazing day this is to witness.

I agree with the Jackie O reference. Michelle Obama, much like Jackie Onassis Kennedy, seems very classy, refined, and sophisticated…excellent characteristic traits for a first lady to possess!
