Lynne Spears admits she’s not the perfect mom

September 12, 2008 by Gayla McCord

The first step to recovery is admitting fault, isn’t it? Perhaps there’s hope for Lynne Spears yet.

Lynne Spears says that even now and knowing what she knows, she’d still let her daughters, Britney Spears and Jamie Lynn Spears pursue stardom.

Of course she would. If she didn’t she knows she wouldn’t be as wealthy as she is and a book about her poor parenting skills would never be a hit.

In an excerpt from her new book, Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World, Lynne details the highs and lows of her family as they embarked on a journey from Kentwood, Louisianna into international spotlight. “Every mother makes mistakes,” she writes, “and I’m no different.”

Lynne says Britney and Brian haven’t read the book as of yet, but daughter Jamie Lynn has read it and apparently loves it.

While I won’t be rushing out to purchase the book anytime soon, I might check it out from the local library once it arrives.
