Publicist for the family of Bernie Mac has confirmed that the beloved actor/comedian passed away this morning from complications due to pneumonia in a Chicago area hospital.
Bernie Mac, 50, worked his way to Hollywood success from an impoverished upbringing on Chicago’s South Side.
This is a very sad day America.
I always loved the way he would speak to “America” from his favorite chair on The Bernie Mac Show.

Pneumonia seems to take down so many people in their 50s. What a horrible year this is for celebrities! RIP Bernie.
