Why do you all get so upset when someone leaves a comment that is less than favorable? Who cares, why give it air? HE has the right the be wrong and it’s ok. If people would feel less offended and afraid of a comment that was different than their own, they wouldn’t feel so violated. I think it’s great that they both found eachother. It’s rare the meet “the one” anyhow, so it’s great. For those who have a negative opinion or a differing opinion, that’s ok too. It won’t make them not marry. So, it’s a non-issue.

Hey, the guy wants to elevate himself in society. God forbid he should marry another nappy-headed-ho from his own gene pool. This nig’s got money now… he can “afford” a white girl.
What most blacks don’t realize is that this sends a statement to their own community and the world. What does it say when blacks make it big in sports and the first thing they do (after buying some spinning rims of course) is get themselves a white girl? It says that a WHITE girl is more desirable to them than a BLACK girl. By doing this they perpetuate the idea that WHITES the more desirable race.
Tyrone here only helps PROMOTE racism in America. If the black race is truly concerned with perpetuating a higher level of respect from whites, they must love themselves first- not marry some white girl as soon as they acquire wealth. Look at actors like Will Smith and Spike Lee. They have the right idea- preserve your culture by marrying into your own race. Be proud of your culture and your heritage- it makes you who you are.

I have been in an interracial marriage and many times it was hard to get along, have fun, have a conversation or simply live together because of our racial differences. If they are strong and really don’t give a shit about what everyone says including their own family members, There is a chance they can be together for a long time. But believe me in five years of my marriage that no longer exists, racial and cultural differences were more than just a bump on the road. Chrissy is obviously struggling with self esteem issues. All non-black females who lay down with a black man are in serious need of counseling and/or therapy. The black race is one gene removed from apes and NO respectable caucasian gets involved other than the occasional, mandatory professional relationship. To gain respect of others, you must first respect yourself.
If every time a brotha gets some money in his pocket, he runs out and marry’s a white woman, he sends the message to both the WHITE and BLACK community that “white is right”!
A similar example… if you hit the lotto tomorrow, and you went to the dealership and bought a Ferrari, your statement to the world is “i think that a Ferrari is the best car i can buy”. Because now you actually can buy it whereas before you could not.
Well, when a brotha hits the lotto (a.k.a, NBA contract) he goes out and “buys” the best woman he can– a white woman. This sends the wrong message to the black community and especially to black women. If anything, blacks should be more upset about this than whites.
And let’s face it people, if this guy was not “going pro” in the NFL, you think he would even have half a chance with this gold digging, oreo-cookie baby making, soon to be on the darkside of the force, white girl? Hell no!

I think many people who wote negative comments about this relationship make me sad. Here are a few points I’d like to make.
1. He is not marrying a white girl he is marrying a beautiful girl that happens to be white. In Boise there are not many black girls.
2. I am sure if there was a black girl Halle Berry looking cheerleader he was in love with he would have married her … or maybe for some racist it would not count because she is half black.
3. HIs job is not to marry a black girl like will smith .. HIS JOB IS TO ENJOY HIS LIFE … i ALSO BELIEVE WILL SMITH MARRIED A WHITE WOMAN IF HE HAD FOUND ONE HE LOVED.

I am not against this type of marriage, and by the way I hope that by expressing facts these are not interpreted as negative comments. I just think that this couple needs to anticipate racial opposition and be prepared for the real world. It is sad to say but adversity can even be experienced from within the family. Heads up Ian and Chrissy, in a perfect world the two previous comments sound very positive and encouraging, but let us remember that we live in America the land of the free! Free to be divided that is. I am not being negative, but it is always good to hope for the best but to expect the worse…so to speak. So the truth remains love makes no distinction of persons, but it is also truth that differences are bitches in relationships. It is simple: Go to an all white (Caucasian) party or social gathering if you are not white. Go to an all black (African American) blah blah blah. Now tell me which one did you relate to the most which one would you choose? Be honest. See is not that easy; individual changes have to be made in these kinds of relationships, and even then… hope to get along and relate to one another
